Having a CarCapsule Allows Danny Bui to Bring His Porsche Home
31st May 2015
Outdoor CarCapsule owner Danny Bui tells us about his ownership experience.
Q: How long have
has your CarCapsule been in service?
A: One year
Q: Which model is
it?
A: It’s the 18’ Outdoor CarCapsule
Q: What vehicle
is in the capsule?
A: I have a 1973 Porsche 911 RS
clone. It’s green.
Q: How did you
hear about CarCapsule?
A: I don’t remember exactly. It was
either through Griot’s Garage or on a website.
Q: Where and how
do you use your CarCapsule?
A: I use it for year-round outdoor car
storage
Q: What was the
main reason you purchased your CarCapsule?
A: I had been storing the Porsche in
California, as I didn’t have a garage here in Washington DC, and I didn’t want
to leave it outdoors unprotected. When I got the CarCapsule I was finally able
to bring the Porsche to DC, as I had something to put it in. The CarCapsule has
served well for outdoor storage.
Q: What do you
feel CarCapsule best protects against in your situation?
A: Dust, pests, and dings. I like
that the bubble protects the car from someone brushing up against it; they
brush up against the bubble, rather than the car.
Q: Are there any
particular situations in which the CarCapsule has been a great help?
A: We had a hail storm, and though
the hail wasn’t really large, I was still glad the Porsche was protected in the
CarCapsule.
Q: Do you ever
take your Capsule with, and use it while away from home?
A: No. I just use it at home.
Q: Have you ever
used your capsule for another use, besides storing and protecting your vehicle?
A: No, but I have thought it would
be great to have a specially made ShowCase as a green house. I only need a
green house in the winter, so a permanent one would take up space in my back yard
and look ugly during the rest of the year. Can you make me one with clear PVC that is UV proof and can be left
outdoors?
Q: Have you ever
had any problems with your CarCapsule?
A: Not with the function. The only
issue I had is I left my Outdoor CarCapsule inflated, and without a car in it.
We had a really windy day and the capsule blew over my back wall and landed in
an alley. I wasn’t home at the time. When I returned I found it in the alley
and a car had run over it. It blew up and worked fine, though there was a tire
mark on it. Rain eventually washed off the mark.
Q: Overall, how
do you feel about your CarCapsule?
A: Very positive. It’s a great
invention.
